What I Write

I write books that are a cross between This is Us and Emily Henry. Think heart-wrenching romance, strong emotional connections, and a few (I hope) unexpected twists for good measure. If you’re not a fan of This is Us or you’ve never read Beach Read or Book Lovers, I like to think of my writing as a cross between Fredrik Backman and Phaedra Patrick. As a writer, I’m deeply inspired by Marisa de los Santos, especially her Love Walked In trilogy.

Currently on submission: What I Wouldn’t Give, in which three young adults, one poverty-stricken, one deeply disgraced, and one pregnant at the wrong time, are faced with impossible choices that will change the course of their lives forever—if they don’t destroy themselves, first. What choices are we willing to make in the name of love? And can we make those choices even when they threaten to destroy us?

Being in love isn’t the problem. It’s what comes after.

Ellen knows all about the ruin love leaves in its wake. She’s trying to single-handedly keep her family financially stable after a work accident that ended her father’s career and drove her mother into the welcoming arms of the bottle—and she’s fighting off ex-boyfriend problems of her own, too.

Mariana is deeply in love with her new husband, but when their dreams for the future are threatened, she finds herself keeping more secrets than she can count. Will she have to choose between the people she loves the most?

Gideon doesn’t think love ever ends well. His mother left him as a child, and he’s been taking on the world, fist-first, ever since. But when he finds himself expelled from school, his mom reaches out with an unexpected offer.

Their futures hinge on the decisions they make today. And their destinies are intimately connected in ways none of them yet realize.
